HourJar keeps your hours on your iPhone and a copy in your account, so they're backed up and on every iPhone you sign in to. That's all your data is used for.
What the app stores
Your jobs and wages, the shifts you log (hours, times, breaks, tips and notes), payments you record, and your settings, including the first name you enter.
Sign in with Apple
HourJar uses Sign in with Apple. Apple gives us a sign-in ID that's unique to HourJar. Apple may also share your first name the first time, which we use for the greeting. We don't ask Apple for your email address.
A copy of what the app stores (listed above) is kept with your account, so it's backed up and syncs to any iPhone where you sign in with the same Apple Account.
Where it's kept
Account data is stored with Supabase, our database provider, on servers in the United States. It's encrypted in transit and at rest. Each account can only read and change its own data. We don't look at it except when you ask us for help.
What we don't do
No ads, no analytics, no tracking, and we never sell or share your data. HourJar doesn't use your data for anything except showing it back to you.
Backups
If you use iCloud Backup or back up your iPhone to a computer, the app's data may be included in that backup, under Apple's terms. We can't see it.
Exporting and deleting
Settings → Export CSV gives you a spreadsheet of everything. Settings → Delete Account erases your account and its copy of your data right away, along with the data on that iPhone. Signing out removes your data from that iPhone and keeps it in your account.
You can also stop using Sign in with Apple for HourJar in your iPhone's Settings → your name → Sign in with Apple.
Children
HourJar is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above.
